About Us

Who We Are

Overview

Ayeta Foundation originates from ladies of valor, as potrayed in the Bible verse Proverbs 31. Since 2016, a group of ladies who continually volunteered together with the Scripture Union in Uganda, with a collaborative mind, agreed to stop at nothing but improve society, not only in the communities where they were raised but rather all over Uganda.

With its headquarters located in Mbale, Malukhu We intend to extend support to women and girls, men and boys and also children.

Gender Equality And Equity

At Ayeta Foundation, we strongly believe that true empowerment means growing together and lifting each other, Gender equality lies in lifting up all identities, which is why we believe that as women rise, we are equally passionate about the men thriving.

Not to forget, there are challenges women will face that a man will not. In Uganda, alot of focus has been put mostly on women’s empowerment and YES we are here today because of that and in position to also extend support and uphold many out there.

OUR FOCUS

Men and Boys

Giving men the same benefits and rights as women during their adulthood journey as such; If a woman is given six months maternity leave for becoming a mother, the same should be given to men when they become fathers. Through advocating for parternity leave and flexible schedules because caring for families makes better fathers and leaders.

Advocating for being able to own and express their feelings and to also be caregivers of themselves and to others, as well as being in position to describe his masculinity, Through training basic life skills in young boys from an early age, which will not only make them self-dependent and self-reliant but will also make them more empathetic towards women who work hard in homes.

Women and Girls

As we empower women and girls at an early age, Gender equity is key. We do this through community engagement such as hands-on skills that eventually help them towards income-generating businesses, we educate them more about their rights as women and the young girls, to stay in school. We provide scholastic materials and financial support to those facing challenges while at school.

Self care and personal hygiene are key and as Ayeta Foundation we provide sanitary towels girls and also teach them on how to use them;  to new mothers, nursing kits or mama kits needed for use after they have given birth.

We have reached about 50 mothers at Kiryandongo District,  Nyakadot Health Center and Kiryandongo Referral Hospital.

Children

We encourage early childhood education, equiping them with formal eductaion further and providing them with eductaion, as the saying goes “charity begins at home.”

We ensure that these children acquire the basic and important morals or code of conduct, grooming them into well-composed adults in the future.

Through the Mentorship program, together with our mentors and people who have attained success in their careers; we engage, identify and encourage the children in line with their strengths.
